ABOUT CHILTERN FLY TYING AND FLY FISHING CLUB

We are the Chiltern branch of the Fly Dressers Guild with a 40 year history of Fly Tying and Fly Fishing. Our members come from all over Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire & West London and we meet regularly during the off season to tie flies and talk about our fishing exploits. We hold regular workshops and host fly tying evenings by expert Fly Tyers at the Great Missenden Memorial Hall, details of which will be found on the Calendar page.
 
We have a number of excellent fly tyers who demonstrate at shows and events; they also instruct newcomers in all the techniques necessary to tie successful flies and to pass the Fly Dressers Guild exams . Members are encouraged to improve their techniques and assistance is always available to help achieve a better understanding of fly tying. Our Instructors can assist in all the Fly Dressers Guild Bronze, Silver, Gold and Specialist Grayling awards.
 
We pride ourselves on being an all inclusive club and welcome all ages and abilities. Throughout the season we organise informal fishing days and club matches at locations such as Tringford, Grafham, Rutland & Draycote with a BBQ/fishing day at Farmoor Reservoir. Further afield in June we take a 3 day trip to fish at Llyn Clywedog, which is always a very social occasion. We are lucky to have experienced members up to England representative level, and we enjoy helping newcomers to develop the skills needed to catch fish or to improve their competition techniques.
